The trigger
The sponsor tab opens only when a visitor taps or clicks the visible Download button on a result that is ready. A real tap or click is required. Scripts can’t trigger it.
In that same tap, the file starts downloading first. Then one sponsor tab opens.
The disclosure
While a sponsor tab is due, this line sits directly under the Download button:
Opens 1 sponsor tab
It is readable text, not a tooltip, with at least 4.5:1 contrast, and screen readers announce it with the button. Once the sponsor tab has opened, the line disappears and Download simply downloads.
The cap
- One sponsor tab per visitor every 30 minutes on your site, across every FlashDL widget on it.
- Other downloads in that time, including the remaining slides of a carousel, never open another tab. Neither do retries.
- If a visitor’s browser blocks site storage, as some private modes do, the widget can’t remember the last tab. The limit is then one per widget each time the page loads.
When it never opens
- When the widget loads, or when your page loads
- When a visitor pastes a link, starts a lookup, scrolls, or presses Back or Close
- On thumbnails, previews, Play, Load more, tabs or error messages
- On timers, hover, or taps on empty space
- Inside in-app browsers such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LINE. There, Download just downloads.
The download is never held back
The file downloads whether or not the sponsor tab opens. A pop-up blocker, an ad blocker or a sandbox without allow-popups stops the tab, never the file. There is no “visit the sponsor to unlock”, no countdown and no “click again”.
How the tab opens
- As a normal tab, in front. Never a small pop-up window, never a pop-under, and the widget never moves focus back.
- The widget never navigates your page or itself to the sponsor.
- The tab goes through
https://insta.flashdl.one/gofirst, which forwards to the current sponsor. It passes only your site’s name. It never passes the visitor’s link, your page address or any visitor identifier, and no referrer is sent. - No ad-network code runs in the widget. Opening one plain link needs none.
Which sponsors we allow
We use one sponsor link at a time. Before it goes live, we check it and where it leads with Google Safe Browsing and major security vendors. If a check ever fails, we switch it off.
Our sponsor must never lead to pages that:
- Show fake virus, system or “update your browser” alerts
- Download files on their own, such as apps, APKs, EXEs or browser extensions
- Ask for notification permission as bait
- Run sweepstakes, prize claims or “you have won” offers
- Ask for logins, passwords or payment details under false pretences
- Contain malware, adult content, gambling, get-rich crypto schemes or dating offers
- Open more pop-ups, or trap the Back button
If you see one, report it and we pause the sponsor while we look into it.
Switching it off
- For everyone. We can switch the sponsor off for every site at once, with no change to your code.
- For your site. Under review by AdSense or for Abusive Experiences? Write to us and we’ll help.
Report a sponsor
If a sponsor tab showed something it shouldn’t, tell us at flashdl2026@gmail.com with the subject “Sponsor report”. Please include:
- The site where the widget was embedded
- The approximate time, with your time zone
- Your device and browser
- The address of the page the sponsor tab showed, and a screenshot if you can
We pause a reported sponsor within 24 hours while we look into it, and we tell you what we found.
See it for yourself
The preview on our home page is the real widget. Tap Download there and you’ll see exactly what your visitors see, including the sponsor tab.
