Takedown and grievances

We don't host any media, but we can stop FlashDL from fetching an account or post, on every site that embeds the widget.

Last updated 4 October 2026

What we can do

FlashDL keeps a blocklist. Once an item is on it, the widget refuses to look it up anywhere it is embedded. No change is needed on any publisher’s site.

  • Block an account by username. This covers its profile, Stories and Highlights, and posts and Reels it published.
  • Block a single post or Reel by its link, which contains a short code such as /p/ABC123/.

What we can’t do

  • Remove content from Instagram. To do that, report it to Instagram through its own reporting tools.
  • Recall files that visitors already downloaded.

Creators who want to stop downloads from FlashDL completely can also make their account private. FlashDL works only with public content.

Send a request

Email flashdl2026@gmail.com with “Takedown” in the subject. Please include:

  1. Who you are and your relationship to the content: the creator, the rights holder, or someone authorised to act for them.
  2. The links or usernames to block, one per line.
  3. The reason. For copyright, identify the original work.
  4. Your contact details: your name and email address.

We respond to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. In addition to the details above, include:

  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Knowingly false notices may carry legal liability.

How fast we respond

  • We reply to every request within 72 hours.
  • Requests to block content showing nudity or sexual acts, or impersonating someone, including morphed images, are handled first.
  • When we act on a request, we tell you what we did.

If you think a block is a mistake

Write to flashdl2026@gmail.com with the blocked username or link, and why you believe it should be restored. If the block followed a copyright notice, we may share your message with the person who sent it.
